The goji berry, also known as a wolf berry, is native to Asia and has been used in China for hundreds of years. These berries are high in antioxidants and also have anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. They have one of the highest levels of vitamin C of any fruit, contain calcium and also have high levels of protein. In Chinese cooking they are thought to increase strength and longevity. These berries don't have much flavour of their own so are best eaten in trail mixes, granolas or oatmeal. You can also soak the berries and use both the softened berries and their soaking water when cooking.
