Our garbanzo beans, also known as chick peas, are grown in mineral rich, vital soil. They are the quintessential salad and hummus bean. They have a mild sweet flavor, they are rich in healthy fiber, folate B9, and manganese, and are a good source of protein, iron, thiamin B1, and magnesium. Soak overnight, rinse and discard the soaking water. Simmer the beans in fresh water for an hour or until tender. Adding a strip of kombu to the water will help break down the enzymes which can make beans difficult to digest.
